These plans must cover everything Original Medicare covers, and many include additional benefits like prescription drugs, dental, vision, and hearing — benefits Original Medicare does not cover. Plans vary by carrier, location, and year.
You can typically enroll during the Annual Enrollment Period (AEP), which runs October 15 – December 7 each year. You may also enroll during your Initial Enrollment Period (IEP) when you first become eligible for Medicare (around your 65th birthday).
